Protecta FR Graphite Intumescent Sealant – 310ml

Description

A high-specification intumescent graphite sealant formulated to firestop complex penetrations and services such as large plastic pipes in fire-rated walls and floors.

Provides up to 4 hours of fire resistance, expanding when heated to seal off melting or combustible penetrations.

Offers high sound insulation (up to 53 dB) and accommodates movement up to 12.5%.

Easy to apply with excellent adhesion to most construction substrates without the need for priming.

Specification

FR Graphite is a high specification mastic designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and gases through openings in fire rated walls and floors. FR Graphite expands when it is subjected to fire and closes openings around penetrations when any combustible or low temperature melting materials have burnt away. It also seals difficult services which traditional fire rated mastics do not achieve, including large plastic pipes.

Fire resistance and acoustic performance depend on the tested construction, service penetrations and installation configuration. Install in accordance with the current Protecta technical documentation for the relevant system.
