Description

A non-setting, hand-workable putty pad designed to reinstate the fire and acoustic integrity of drywall partitions where they are penetrated by double electrical sockets.

Fast, Tool-Free Installation: The self-adhesive pad is simply pressed into place over the back of the socket, saving valuable time and labour on site.

Fire & Sound Integrity: Reinstates the partition’s fire performance for up to 2 hours and provides outstanding acoustic insulation (Rw 70 dB), preventing fire and sound transfer.

Permanently Flexible: Its non-setting formula means it never hardens, allowing for easy removal and re-application for socket maintenance without loss of performance.

Specification

FR Putty Pad is an easy to fit, fire and sound rated sealant supplied as non-setting putty. It is designed to maintain the fire resistance of gypsum walls that are breached by electrical switches and sockets.

When electrical sockets and switches are installed in dry lining partitions, the original fire rating of the partition is compromised. Fitting FR Putty Pad will reinstate the fire rating of the partition for up to 2 hours (depending on the partition fire rating), preventing the passage of smoke and flames in a fire and also preventing sound and air movement during service life, through the electrical socket into the cavity.

FR Putty Pad can be fitted inside or outside of the socket or wall box and in a fire, it forms a robust fire resistant char that prevents burn through at the location of electrical or pipe penetrations.

Fire resistance and acoustic performance depend on the tested construction, service penetrations and installation configuration. Install in accordance with the current Protecta technical documentation for the relevant system.
